About Dr Shannon Zawada

Dr Shannon Zawada is an experienced and caring Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility (CREI) and Gynaecology specialist.

Shannon completed her medical degree and Masters in Human Reproduction and Human Genetics at the University of Sydney.  She has RANZCOG certified subspecialist qualifications in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). This is the highest recognised qualification for a Fertility Specialist in Australia.

Shannon is a consultant Fertility specialist and Gynaecologist at Life Fertility Sydney, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, and Canterbury Hospitals. She is a visiting medical officer at Prince of Wales Private and St Luke’s hospital. She is a lecturer at the University of Sydney in Perinatal and Women’s Health.

She has extensive experience and interest in managing ovulation disorders, PCOS, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis, fibroids, complex infertility, fertility preservation, medical and social egg freeze, andrology, preimplantation genetic testing, donor conception, surrogacy, menopause, contraception, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology.

After completing her training as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Shannon pursued an additional three years of accredited training through RANZCOG (Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) to earn her Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) at various IVF units. The CREI represents the highest post-graduate qualification available in the IVF field in Australia and New Zealand, and is currently held by fewer than 100 Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.


Throughout her training at the Royal Hospital for Women, she gained additional experience in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. Shannon is a lecturer at The Sydney University Medical School. Shannon consults at the Royal Hospital for Women, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Canterbury Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, and St Luke’s Care. In her practice, she offers care to patients of all ages in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
